Since its foundation in Europe nearly 40 years ago, BDO International has grown to be one of the world's leading multinational accounting and consulting organisations serving growing businesses.
The shared history of the BDO organisation began in 1963, when firms from the UK, Germany, the Netherlands, USA and Canada joined together to form the Binder Seidman International Group.
Ten years later, the British, German and Dutch member firms took on a common name, Binder Dijke Otte & Co. In 1988, the world wide network of BDO firms was well and truly established when the current structure was set up, including the uniform corporate identity and logo, and the use of the BDO acronym before member firms' names.
It is this long history of commitment to service excellence and client satisfaction that has contributed to BDO's current leadership status. The organisation now has member firms throughout Europe, North and South America, the Asia and the South Pacific , and the Middle East and Africa, and continues to expand.
In 2002, BDO remains securely positioned as the world's sixth largest multinational accounting and consulting organisation - and no.1 in its chosen 'middle market' niche.
